From Disappointment to Determination: Continuing My Interview Journey

After attending several interviews, I started observing many of my mistakes. Every day felt like a battle. I constantly analyzed what went wrong, corrected my weaknesses, and made plans for the next interview.

Sometimes I managed my fear and communication issues, but technically I realized I still needed to become stronger. So I decided to focus on both areas at the same time — communication and technical knowledge. From that point, I tried to move forward in the right direction with more discipline.

This article is part of my ongoing journey. If you haven’t read the earlier section, I recommend starting from the beginning to understand the complete story. You can read the previous part here.

How Consistency and Discipline Helped Me Survive Multiple Interviews – My Journey Continues

During this period, a stranger who later became a good friend helped me a lot. I truly appreciate him even today. His guidance made me realize an important truth: when we stay consistent in our efforts, new opportunities and supportive people start appearing in our lives.

While continuing my preparation, I did extensive research on the technology related to my career path. I practiced daily and kept attending interviews regularly. After every interview, I made one important rule for myself: do not focus on the result, focus only on the process.

Every question asked in interviews was carefully written down. I reviewed those questions and practiced them again the same day. This habit helped me improve step by step.

Soon I started facing back-to-back interviews. Each interview gave me a new learning experience. Some interviews ended in the first round, while in others I moved to the second round. Even when I failed, I treated every interview as a lesson.

Today, when I look back at that time, I want to tell everyone one important thing:
Never give up.

If our effort and luck support us, the right opportunity will come at the right time. Sometimes life and career may start late, but what really matters is how we use our time every day.

During that period, I removed many unnecessary activities from my life. I avoided functions, movies, and other distractions. I allowed myself only a few hours of relaxation, sometimes once a week or once a month. Until we reach our goal, we must be ready to make such sacrifices.

Learning from Interview Failures || Improving Technical Skills

Another important lesson I learned is the role of a mentor. A good mentor can guide us in the right direction and help us avoid many mistakes. If possible, always try to learn from someone experienced. At the same time, remain humble and focus on your work.

In my experience, discipline is more powerful than motivation. Motivation may come and go, but discipline keeps us moving forward every single day.

I continued this journey, collecting interview questions, practicing every day, and improving slowly. By that time, I had attended nearly ten interviews. Some ended quickly, but some went further.

Finally, one day something different happened. I cleared the first round. Then I cleared the second round as well.

Unfortunately, even after clearing those interview rounds, I was unable to secure the position due to some other reasons. That moment was very disappointing for me. For almost a month, I remained in a sad and discouraged state of mind.

However, after some time I realized that staying in sadness would not change my situation. So I decided to get back on track and start attending interviews again.

This time, things were different. I was no longer the same beginner who struggled in the first interviews. I had already learned many lessons from my previous experiences. I had improved my communication skills, strengthened my technical knowledge, and gained confidence through continuous practice.

Sometimes I felt that hard work is in our control, but luck is not always in our hands. Many external factors can influence our results. But I also believed that if we continue putting in the effort, opportunities will eventually come.

With that mindset, I made a clear decision:
I would attend interviews again and make sure I performed better in the upcoming opportunities.

Instead of worrying about the past, I focused on the present moment. I told myself there was no need to carry disappointment forward. The only thing that mattered was performing well in the next interview.

So I prepared all the necessary requirements once again. I scheduled interviews and started attending them with renewed confidence. This time, my preparation helped me perform better during discussions with interviewers.

Slowly, I began receiving positive responses from interview panels. Those responses gave me new energy and hope that success was getting closer.

And once again, my journey continued — with patience, preparation, and belief in myself.

For the first time in a long time, I saw a genuine smile on my face.

But even then, I knew one thing clearly —
my journey was still not finished.
